Eighteen-year-old Johana longs to leave her small hometown, pass her high school diploma and go on to college. However, her last year of high school is more challenging for her than for her classmates, as she takes care of her younger sister with a disability every day. Referred to as the "glass child", Johana feels overlooked by her overburdened parents and her surroundings. She has to break free from everyone's expectations, find her own space and leave her sister's shadow.

"The Other One" had its world premiere at the 58. This documentary by Marie-Magdalena Kochová focuses on the topic of "glass children" - healthy siblings of children with special needs. The film gives voice to all those who have ever felt like the other.
