Education for schools

Schools are also welcome in the Imperial Baths, for which we have prepared special tours inspired by experiential pedagogy. Currently, you can choose from the following two programmes.

 

SPA WITH ALL SENSES

Welcome to the Imperial Spa! What is this building and what was it used for? What does the spa smell, taste or sound like? Engage all your senses and experience what a spa treatment can look like. You'll walk through the unique former spa building, taste the springs, work out in the ancient fitness room and experience a little musical surprise. 

 

Program length: 120 minutes (including snack break)

Deadline: Year-round, by prior arrangement

Capacity: 10-30 children

Designed for: children 3-7 years old, kindergarten + younger children of the first grade of primary school

Price: 75 CZK per person

 

Objectives of the programme: The education is intended as an exploration of the historical object through the involvement of all the senses. During the program, preschool and younger school children will practice aesthetic perception, creative activities, musical and harmonic sensitivity, cooperation in groups, and gain basic information about the significance of the Spa building and the spa industry in Karlovy Vary.

SPA GARDENS

We invite all inquisitive pupils and students to an unconventional tour of the Imperial Baths. At times it will be more like an exploration, a search, maybe even a hunt, during which we will practice our sight, hearing, observation, but also various knowledge. Students and pupils will learn interesting facts not only about the Spa building but also about the spa industry in Karlovy Vary. They will try a spa treatment, taste the healing springs and experience what it was once like to be a guest of the Imperial Baths.

Designed for: 8-12 years

Price: 75 CZK per person

 

Objectives of the programme:

The programme is aimed at the comprehensive development of aesthetic perception and gaining knowledge about the importance and history of the Karlovy Vary spa in a fun, interactive way. Pupils will also practice communication and cooperation skills as explorers of the historic building.
