Anora is a comedic love story of a straight-talking Brooklyn stripper and the son of a Russian oligarch, which became a sensation at this year's Cannes Film Festival. The infectious energy and skill of director Sean Baker, rightly dubbed "the Steven Spielberg of independent film" by CSFD, was also the main jury's inspiration, which awarded the film the Palme d'Or. By the way, Baker has already delighted Czech audiences with his charming social drama The Florida Project(2018) or the iPhone 5 comedy Transdarinka (2015, award at the KV IFF).
